Logan's Group Traveled to Busburg:
[21:33] Logan Delcarte chuckled as she explained the coffee, before moving out of the shelter. He looked around slightly, before turning to Sora. "I've done worse for longer, friend. I'll be fine until Busburg. I can rest there." He replied, and despite the tired eyes, he showed no signs of fatigue. He took a long walk around the perimeter, making sure nothing could have slipped past his detection. He found some rather large footprints, and murmured to himself. He hadn't known yetis to come this far south of the mountains before. Bus might know, but he added the great beasts to his list of possible troubles. Turning back to the shelter, he came to the entrance. The day was looking bright, a nice break from the last few cloudy and cold days. His stance seemed rather solid, though he shifted into a wider stance after a moment, hands coming up slowly, like a swan spreading its wings. Once they were almost touching above him, he clenched both hands into tight fists, and with a sharp outward breath, he wrenched both arms down to his knees, the stone shelter suddenly shifting and sliding back into the ground. "No need to leave that there." He said, mostly to himself, before sitting by the fire, accepting food and coffee when presented.
[21:50] Etoile chuckled a little bit while she settled down to making the coffee, for the most part she was quiet that morning, waiting until the three had sat down before placing coffee in front of them. Just as silently she began to pack up the blankets, after all they were only a short journey now from Busburg, or so Logan said. Every so often she would turn her attention to the tree line, the shelter disappearing once more was something she had become used to. "It feels colder today...I wonder if bad weather is coming" she mused before turning to Sora and taking a seat in front of the fire to warm her fingers
[21:58] Sora Gamachi spinned the spit as he warmed up the rabbit meat he had cooked late last night after he meditated. Sora soon removing the cooking device off of the fire and presenting the food to everyone. "Should be tender enough, but once we get to Busburg, we should get a good meal from a tavern!" He laughed, sitting down and grasping the coffee in his hand, blowing on the coffee to cool it down slightly and taking a small sip. "Ahhh, warm and bitter. Reminds me of this one tavernkeeper's coffee back in the world I came from. Very good food too for a small town village tavern."
[22:03] Rook Saibot gratefully accepted both food and drink. The warmth of this coffee thing seemed counter-intuitive, why have a hot drink, when cold drinks were so much easier? Regardless he took a gulp, gently placed his mug down and proceeded to stick his tongue out and paw at it. He'd never tasted anything so bitter in his life, it seemed bizarre to him that people could enjoy this. After his face had returned from it's trip to lemon sucking land he bit into the rabbit, thankful it replaced the taste in his mouth. "I don't think coffee is for me..." as the memory was brought back Rook's face scrunched again. This place he had wound up in was bizarre, like a tiger with horizontal stripes. "Though I'm grateful it was offered, no more for me thank you..." "Odd, you'd think with your bitter personality it'd be just perfect for you" chimed the voice from the jar
[22:11] Logan Delcarte quietly drank and ate, his eyes gazing into the embers of the fire, a distant look in his eyes. The conversation seemed to wash over him for the most part, as thoughts flitted in and out of his head, the bigger and more pressing ones lingering. He stayed like that for a long moment, before biting into his food and hearing a crunch, having bitten through a bone. He pulled it out of his mouth and favoured it with a slight scowl, as if it were the bone's fault for finding its way into his maw. He tossed it aside, finishing the rest of his food whilst noticing Rook's reaction to coffee. "Aye, it doesn't taste the best, but it wakens you up well." He replied, his voice quiet.
[22:15] Etoile smiled at Sora "Well I suppose it's a good thing I decided to open a tavern since I've been told I make good coffee and food" however, Rook's reaction to the bitter taste of the coffee made her laugh, perhaps the first real laugh she'd had in a very long time. It was a light, almost musical sound that carried on the chilled air. Lifting a hand to her lips she shook her head "It's quite alright, perhaps tea with honey if you ever are in my tavern, or warm chocolate" her smile was kind while she watched him try to paw the taste off of his tongue again. For a moment she didn't even notice Logan's off mood until he spoke the tips of her ears twitching and she tilted her head to the side. "Where's Kourek hiding?" she asked trying to change the subject and turning her attention once more to the treeline
[22:22] Sora Gamachi sighed, the warmth of the coffee filling his body with warmth all around, his eyes feeling more and more awake as he sipped the coffee. As he stared at Logan picking out a bone from the rabbit. Probably didn't get some of the bone out. "Be careful guys, don't wanna hurt your teeth." He warned, as he got some rabbit meat of his own and began eating it, being careful not to bit into any bone. As he heard Etoile laughed, he gave a smile that was quite blissful, giving off some chuckles of his own as he responded to her. "Well, when I am in Rivencroft, I'll make sure to stop by." Though his mind wandered off, thinking of the new life he will have. Being in the military was nothing new, it's like the knights he once ordered, but more larger than any knight order. But he sometimes wonders if he made the right choice. However, once Etoile mentioned Kourek, he did seem to wonder as well. "Yeah, where did he go? I guess hunting?"
[22:28] Rook Saibot finished his rabbit and resumed his pipe smoking. He too wondered where the giant wolf had gone, but figured what with him being a wild animal in the wilderness that he was doing as animals do. He turned to face Etoile and smiled "I'd love to, as long as you're willing to make it for me." These people seemed much kinder to strangers than those where he had come from. Perhaps he'd stay in this new world, at least until he became too homesick to bear
[22:38] Logan Delcarte looked to them, before looking to the fire again. "He's not far. Dragging back some food, likely." He replied, feeling a yawn coming on. He suppressed it, instead finishing his coffee and frowning slightly. It was always more bitter at the end of a cup. Finishing the last of his rabbit, he stood and turned in one motion, before whistling out, the sound loud and piercing. Five quiet seconds passed, before the Alpha loped through a copse of trees, a half-eaten deer in his mouth. He dropped it at the sight of Logan, before growling and baring his teeth. A heavy sigh came from Logan. It was one of his confrontational days. The two could practically tell what the other was thinking for the most part, and yet still had to fight for dominance. Calmly lowering down into a crouch, he stopped once one hand was touching the ground, as if waiting to push off. The fennec's body seemed to take on a stance much like Kourek's challenging pose. A gnash of teeth and a snarl came from the Alpha, and Logan narrowed his eyes, growling back. Kourek snarled and snapped again, taking a step closer. Logan's eyes never left the direwolf's, and he moved forward too, letting out a loud bark, the noise seeming to carry a ripple in the air. It caused the large beast's fur to wave, though Kourek seemed as determined as before, roaring out and raising his hackles more, starting to circle. The Commander copied, playing along for a good long moment, before lunging forward and roaring louder, pushing his power into the roar, the elongated noise bringing with it a shockwave and blasting air. The combination made Kourek back down, taking a couple of steps back, before grumbling and letting off a quiet snarl, as if to show he still had some fight.
Staying in the stance for a long moment, Logan eventually stood upright, huffing and turning to the group. "Apologies. He likes to fight, sometimes." He explained briefly, before walking over to the packs and beginning to sort them. Kourek just went back to tearing into his food.
[22:45] Etoile nodded her head to Rook "of course," her head tilted "And you know you always have a free bed there whenever you're in Rivencroft, you too Logan" she watched him whistle for the direwolf and raised an eyebrow when the one in question appeared, tensing and looking to Sora as if to ask 'what's going on'. It was a reminder that the dire wolf could easily rip her into little tiny pieces even if he did let her sleep curled up against his fur. For a moment she considered approaching the large animal but decided until he was done eating that it was best that she didn't approach him.
[23:00] Sora Gamachi had watched Logan just fighting for what seemed to be dominance. Seems like the two were having a time of their life, though it did remind Sora a little bit about his own large dogs. Wonder how Jonas and them are doing... Hopefull one day he can meet him again, however he finished off his coffee and his meat, standing up to do a bit of morning stretches to start off the morning. "Gotta keep fit, though not too many since I gotta keep my energy up." He nodded, sitting back down and relaxing a bit before staring back to Logan and Kourek.
[23:04] Rook Saibot "I do? That seems like an odd thing to offer someone you barely know... I mean I could be an assassin, or a mass murderer or... a..." "An arsonist?" "You know I think that's the first time you've ever mentioned fire and had it be a genuine answer. I'm impressed this is some serious personal growth." Rook grinned again, unphased by the canine antics. While the giant wolf and Logan growled at each other he paid it no mind, considering it to be akin to a game of chess a father may play against his son. Regardless of the outcome, it was something they did.
[23:07] Logan Delcarte sorted through the packs, looking over to the direwolf now and again. Not like they needed to, as they could practically sense each other. The wolf never took his eyes off Logan as he ate, except when looking for where to bite next. Turning to the group, he smiled, even if it were a tad forced. "Right, Sora, you can do your training in Busburg, I want to get there before noon." He said, making a hand gesture to Kourek, combining it with a guttural noise. The direwolf took a few more mouthfuls before getting up and trundling over, staying still to allow the fennec to fit the packs. "Rook, if you don't mind my asking, how fast can you move on your smoke?"
[23:16] Etoile it was tempting to shift sizes and just find a nice warm pouch to crawl into, or even into Kourek's fur, she didn't however, instead finishing packing and stood from beside hers and placed a gentle touch on Logan's shoulder before continuing to the dire wolf. "Ah, I've been told multiple times that my kindess will be my downfall, but, my tavern is an open and welcome place for anyone who needs it" crouching in front of Kourek she lifted her amber gaze to the wolf's eyes and sighed, boys would be boys it seemed, regardless of species. "Once we get to Busburg you can take a little rest, at least you won't have to worry about carrying all of us past there" she spoke to him knowing full well he could understand her.
[23:20] Rook Saibot laughed with vigour. "I've yet to meet a beast that can pass me if I don't want them to. So fast enough. A better question would be how fast would you like me to fly?" Rook's left eyebrow raised as a cheeky grin spread from ear to ear. He slipped his cloak on, put his thumb in his mouth and exhaled a thick white cloud of smoke before stepping onto it. "I appreciate it Etoile. Anyway I can repay your kindness just ask. Though I should warn you, I'm no use with repairing stuff or cooking. Or juggling... but that's a different story altogether"
[23:26] Sora Gamachi stood up and shoveled some snow onto the campfire, making sure it is out as everyone gets some packs to Kourek. After Sora finishes the fire, he goes to get some of the packs and helps Logan pack up. "Don't worry Logan, like Etoile said, we will have our fun in Busburg, you get a nice, long rest! Eat some steak, and have some wine. You deserve it ya know." Though with that said, Sora helps Logan out as much as possible so they can get a move on as quickly as they could.
The final stretch of roadway would have a extremely sudden shift in weather, from cool and cold weather and nearly no snow to almost piles and piles of snow. The closer to Busburg they got, the more the weather spiked up to nearly hurricane like weather; with fifty plus miles per hour gusts that shook through the landscape. The ground was hard, made of rock that had been melted together by Busilen most likely; and was wide enough for two and a half wagon's, for plenty of space for them to pass by each other. Though, this wide path is only for the mountain way, it starts off narrow. The road when Busburg is in sight shows off its dire conditions with the winds occasionally passing seventy miles per hour in heavy, long gusts and driving ice rain with snow dusting across like a white desert! However, as soon as they get within... say, twenty feet of the gates of Busburg, the wind shuts down immediently, a sense of warmth almost too warm weather is in the air. To those that feel affects by magic, could feel a sense of fullness; as mana is restored to them greatly; the feeling of fatigue slowly begins to fade even without sleep. The smell of food rolls slowly across the hill. And occasionally the sounds of a few spells being casted. The aura of lights hover above main towers for light; but smaller ....lifelike orbs of light shaped like squids float across the city lighting up dark, usually lonely pathways. But... it wasn't all perfect.
At the entrance, the two main gates to Busburg were shattered into three massive pieces; both sides. The largest of each gate embedded almost halfway into the ground below; although some work had been done, yeti footprints are clearly marked within the ground; stained, cracked walls are a feature around the inner and outer walls though the remains of animals had already been removed the day prior. The stables had been partially rebuilt, though were clearly hastily made. The damaged barn to the left was refortified but still looked like it could collapse. The right one completely destroyed and still left in a pile of debris. Many, if not all the wagons had been damaged or completely flattened. The cracks while not serious for the walls because of their thickness, did weaken them as guard stood at the openings. In the center of the supply district was. Three Infantry classed milita, five Artillery milita, and two scout milita awaiting for any chance to attack would be attackers, that would try to take advantage of the open large gateways. They didn't look exactly menising, but to Logan, and a few others who could sense it; would feel distortions in space around them as they use Cruic's magic; sensing, waiting for any command or if anything is spotted. The two scouts displayed what seem like hologram images of the first mile around the bottom of the town, red dots and white dots shown on the map; though the red dots hardly enter range of the hologram itself. Busilen isn't seen as of yet, but Logan or someone could comment it to a guard for the information to get to him.
[23:56] Logan Delcarte gave Sora a brief, but sincere smile, before hopping up on Kourek, pulling Etoile up after a moment, allowing Sora to find his own way up. Looking to Rook and giving an amused expression, he just laughed. "Just keep pace, and we should be there soon." He replied, leaning forward and hooking an arm around Etoile. "Kourek, THRAKK!" He shouted to the great beast, who suddenly sped off onto the road nearby, following it towards Busburg. As the weather got worse, Logan held up a hand, extending his power. The winds seemed to avoid them completely, the rain and snow blasting around them in a cone, and though they were spared the brunt of the weather, the sound of howling wind was ever prevalent. To be heard, one would have to shout, and to be understood, nothing short of screaming what they wished to say.
As they reached Busburg, the sun rising high above them by this point, Logan's eyes went wide at the damage that had been done, looking around quickly, eyes taking in the details. He was surprised to see such damage, especially so soon after Busburg's last disaster. At the moment that they crossed the threshold of the broken gates, Logan leaped from Kourek's back, landing near some of the militia, whilst Kourek simply plodded over to an empty stable, curling up in the hay. "What happened here?" He asked the group at large, eyes darting between them before locking onto whomever answered first. "I need to speak to Busilen, as soon as possible."
[00:07] Etoile lifted her hand up for Logan to pull her up as had become the norm and settled in front of him on Kourek's back, giving a thankful pat to the direwolf as well. Tilting her head forward the cold burnt at her cheeks, turning to shift her grip when Logan lifted a hand to help them avoid the brunt of the weather. Not entirely certain what she had been expecting upon their arrival in Busburg, it was certainly not the destruction that she saw before her. The destroyed gates made her eyes widen and for a moment it reminded her of the gates of the castle when they had fallen. Shaking her head she felt the shift in weight behind her when Logan leapt from Kourek's back, she waited until he curled up in the stall before sliding to the ground. Her feet sank into the snow and she crouched down, drawing her fingertips along the footprints before laying her hand flat to the cold ground.
Always in touch with nature she could feel it, the hurt, the fear, death. It spread through her fingertips and up her arm, her heart aching for the loss she felt. The whole time her eyes were closed, concentrating on what she could feel and reaching out with her own light to calm what lingered. Eyes snapped open and she stood quickly, something in her seemed to have changed in that moment, the smile was gone from her lips and the light in her mysterious eyes was dim. Sora however would recognize the determined look on her fair features. Gaze turning to the soldiers Logan had hurried to. “I need someone to take me to those who are injured”
[00:23] Sora Gamachi had jumped up on Kourek as she looked over to Rook and made sure he kept up, the ex knight on the very back of the direwolf as he watched Logan protect them from the snow and winds. But even then, Sora did have a way, but he is trying to hold back some things in case something goes sour, though he felt bad having Logan do all the work. Possibly once the two go back to Brora... But either way, he was pretty cozy with his fur jacket and such. But the cozyness didn't last long, when he gazed at the entrace of the town, Sora's jaw dropped. "Wha..." His eyes couldn't believe it, something this large cracked and destroyed a gate? Even the walls! "What the hell..." As they stopped and gotten down, Sora went over to look around, inspecting the walls and the gate. The footprints looked humanoid, but rather large. A giant? A yeti most likely. Though Sora stops for a moment to think.
When Etoile begins to inspect the prints and her complexion changes, Sora nodded and went to her side. "My friend here is a healer if any need help. I can vouch for her on this." Then Sora looked over and went to a nearby guard if any to ask about what happened, mentioning he was Logan's... Apprentice. Gosh that's a bit embarassing. However needed since he isn't known around here, even mentioning he is a former knight won't help most likely.
[00:31] Rook Saibot watched the wolf speed off and blinked, bemused. "And there was me thinking I might have a race on my hands." the smoky stranger emptied his pipe, reflled it, lit it and began smoking it as his smoke cloud sped in the direction of his companions. He argued internally over whether to overtake them, but decided since they knew where to go it'd be best just to fly alongside them. The weather affected him little, his bubble protecting him from the elements that would seek to harm him.
As they all arrived Rook cast an eye upon the destruction that had been wrought, though having no idea how it had looked beforehand he was unsure of the real extent of the damages. Still, the gate itself was impressive and no doubt whatever had destroyed them equally so. This world was truly filled with interesting beings. Observing the interactions between the group and the guards he thought it best to lower his hood and simply follow. Rook gleaned this Bus... person (given his meeting of an elf and a Fox that walked on two legs he refused to use the word human) was someone important and looked forward to, if nothing else spreading his potential influence further. Powerful people often had access to the best food
------------
[19:12] Etoile waisted no time putting herself to work, having parted from Sora and Logan and letting her instincts draw her to where the injured were. From what she could tell no people were actually killed but what had happened was starting to form a complete picture. Pulling her hair back from her face she let out a deep breath and removed the leather gloves from her fingers, it had been a while since she’d done this, a fear of drawing danger in by using her abilities was replaced by the need to help those who had been hurt the worst. They had been lucky. The silver collar around her neck, the insignia faded and scratched, one hand curled around it hesitating only for a moment before pulling it away and setting the offending piece of jewelry to the side. The tips of her ears twitched and she lowered her hands to the first patient’s temples, pressing lightly. Eyes opened and she lifted her gaze to those who had been keeping the critical comfortable. “Please, do not let anyone disturb me” her voice was quiet and her smile kind before she turned her gaze down again.
Her eyes were bright, swirling like the storms of a hurricane around dark pupils that were as deep as the universe itself, haunting, and yet kind. A warmth filled her and her skin began to glow faintly, brightest at her fingertips that connected her to her patient. No words were spoken from her lips, but she went into a trance like state transferring the energy from her, energy that made up not just her life, but everything about her, to warm and soothe the spirit while the light worked to heal the body.
--------------
[SysreHeightsInc] An infantry class would speak up, "Ten monster yeti's broke the doorway, along with three armored yeti's who seemed to be commanding the ten, before the monster yetis were entranced by our threat mechanics and spells; they came two days ago almost, this is the second day without attack. They couldn't do too much damage though it left several in critical condition. Even with the power of our artillery it hardly dealt damage to those creatures." Another would speak up. "The armored yeti's didn't seem to possess magical skill, so they and the monster yeti's threw creatures or whatever they could to hit at those on the towers. But thankfully failed due to the ease of keeping threat on us, while getting healed and buffed by our support group. While we couldn't kill any, we did drive them away, but not without casualties as many of our horses, wagons, and buildings were left in disarray as can be seen here. Four of the six that fought are in critical condition." He reported. Then pointed to two rounded circle like cracks on the wall nearby. "That is where two of them hit the wall, as the yeti's made their escape." The scout closest to Logan commented. "Busilen shall be here shortly." Still looking at the hologram that can be seen by others, just that the aura it emits seems to bend space around it rather than emit mana or magic.
A artillery milita would respond to Etoile, "Take the left gateway, head all the way up; take the left fork; go through the second gateway, head left again down all the way until you see four large buildings. Those are the permanent inn and housing's Busilen had made; they house the critically injured although, only four that I know of are critically injured, others are minor injuries from falling debris; though if you mean the animals; those who are still alive are there." Pointing to the left barn; which had a wall torn apart, and some of the animals are seen with bandages and a few care takers tending to the animals there. There... was very, few, animals considering how large the barn was. Those at the critical section within the large inn stood and watched. A few commenting, "There's no gain if you are harming yourself you know!" Or something to that effect, of harming herself wasn't worth trying to heal them quicker! Even if the patient she currently was healing was steadily recovering; many bones broken and bruises at many of his organs from being slammed into the wall even while in armor.
For Sora, listening to either Logan's conversation, or Etoile's will provide him with all the information he would need and desired, though the guard he spoke too would shake his head. "All I know is that if it wasn't for Busilen's quick action to blow a whistle, along with the guards scouting at the time; it would be a lot worse. We were able to contain the damage and fighting to the supply district. Though many horses, mules, and donkeys died in the process as the Yeti's threw them to try and kill those that were attacking them." Sora would also be able to see that the door's are completely torn off the hinge where they swivel; and also broken into large chunks; these doors are not -thin- by any means, each plank of wood that made up the doorway was a small tree or larger in size! The doors were slammed into multiple times, so they gave the town enough time to close off the other gates and allow time for the milita to get into position. The walls themselves are cracked in places, but most of the damage isn't completely through from one side to another, except the edges of the gate which had been scrapped up badly and need to be repaired soon, otherwise the door that used to fit in the hole wouldn't work properly.
For Rook, almost every creature that was there, speaking \ talking, in armor or in clothing was a animal in some way. There was several humans, and several of the guards were too however; and not even the kind with ears, just normal humans- well, normal enough, as they could cast magic and stuff! Busilen would have finally came into view, hop jumping to get across the city faster as he had to go from all the way from the tip of the town to the bottom in record time!
The Warl (Busilen) overall he look like a mouse, with his belly fur floral white with orange red and some dark gray splotches. His back is mostly orange red and dark gray splotches with white dots. He has five long fingers and six long toes which have the inner and outer toes sticking out to give them a wide foot print while the four toes in the center are slightly spread apart, though the toes can be squeezed together by the Warl to have all of the toe's touching each other. The legs are digigrade and have a forty-five degree angle giving them the impression that he could be taller if he stood in a stretched stance. Busilen is three feet seven inches tall. and currently was wearing only black shorts, no other features aside from six silver rings on his tail; that do emit magic that is noticeable, and doesn't distort space.
Busilen skids across some of the ground after going so fast to look around... He paused briefly and waves to Logan and his group! "Heya!" he looks around and asks one of the guards nearby how things are going; "There's been no change, nothing has come yet; and no threats have come close enough to warrant unneeded violence. Those in critical condition, are still in critical condition; the animals are likely going to recover, though a few will have to be put out of service and put into personal care; I'm sure some will take care of them, or we can offer them to the school for training exercises for first time riders; something gentle for the larger creatures." The guard responded. Busilen smiled and nodded. He would then walk towards the group, or at least to Logan.
